Riverways is a coalition of non-profit organizations that educates and supports engagement for clean water and for safe, accessible, and equitable engagement with urban waterways.
We work to enhance water quality by addressing the consequences of urban environmental pollution and by preparing people to act for clean water (fishable, swimmable, drinkable). We acknowledge and work to dismantle oppressive systems that impact communities’ access to spaces on or near the water. We raise awareness of the issues and build stewardship of the waterways by engaging people – primarily youth – in structured on-water activities that blend environmental science, watershed history, leadership development, and recreation.
We educate and support civic engagement on:
01.
Clean water
To support safe, equitable access to recreating on the waterways of Camden, Philadelphia, and the region
02.
Increased Access
Increased access to on-water and near-the-water experiences, particularly in communities historically denied that access
03.
Youth Leadership
Youth to become leaders and catalysts for greater awareness and conservation of this vital natural resourc
